I’ve had post ideas swimming through my head for the past few days now, ever since I decided to create this outlet for my pent-up frustrations. As much as I would love to throw post after post of sexual encounters at you, for now I’ll just write up a quick blurb on one of my favorite businesses. A girl’s gotta save some stories for a rainy day (or a dry spell).
I found out about Pink Label Corsets about half a year ago via Etsy- seemed too good to be true when I heard that not only were their corsets inexpensive, but each order was custom fitted to your measurements at no extra cost. I don’t pretend to be a thin little thing, no sir, so when I realized that I could get a corset made to suit my substantial curves for less than 100USD, I jumped on the opportunity.
London’s Corset (seen above) seemed like the best choice for me- I wanted something classic, but was determined to go underbust. I know I’m long-waisted, so I made sure to have an extra two inches added to the center length, and it came out perfectly. I wear it as often as I can, and I have tightlaced. Unfortunatly, I’m rather rough on the poor thing (or John is.. I’ll blame him for yanking me back by my corset strings on more than one delightful occasion) and the hook and eye tape is starting to show quite a bit of wear.
These corsets are a fantastic deal, but I have a few words of caution:
- Make sure to communicate with the creator as much as you can during the ordering process, and do your research about the product.
- Don’t be afraid to ask questions that may seem silly. For example, the zipper on one a friend recieved was plastic when she’d just assumed it would be metal. That might not be a problem for everyone, but for her purposes metal would have served much better.
- Pay close attention to the center length measurement. Often with underbusts, the top of the corset will start higher up than you imagine.
- Word to the wise, measure twice. Measure three times. Make someone else measure.
Overall, I highly reccomend them. Not everyone, myself included, can afford to throw down 200USD or more on something pretty to wear. Pink Label Corsets offers very good, and terribly sexy, garments for the price- added bonus, all their products are produced right here in the midwestern US. Just know before you buy that you won’t see the same sort of expert craftsmanship that you might out of pricier counterparts, but that’s the price of living inexpensively. You get what you pay for, folks, and 65USD for a steel boned corset here is a far better investment than what you’d get for the same price at Fredereick’s of Hollywood. Who wants a cheaply made, plastic boned novelty corset when you can get the real thing elsewhere?
